It’s been an absolute whirlwind of emotions as I’ve transitioned from corporate life into full-time Denver area headshot photography. The shift has been a blend of fear, excitement, uncertainty, and a deep sense of fulfillment. In just a few months, I’ve experienced the full range of emotions as I’ve stepped into this new chapter of my life. It’s been challenging at times, but also incredibly rewarding to pursue something I’m truly passionate about, and to grow my work in Colorado portrait photography. Through it all, the unwavering support from those around me has kept me grounded and moving forward.

One of the biggest highlights of this transition has been the kindness and warmth I’ve received from my new neighbors, the Abowds. They’ve been a wonderful support system during this time, and I was so excited when they asked me to capture a family photo session in their new home. Jonny, Laura, and their adorable kids were such a joy to photograph, and it felt like the perfect way to celebrate their fresh start in a new place. We spent the evening taking beautiful portraits at sunset, with the golden light making for some truly magical moments, a shining example of Colorado portrait photography. The love and laughter shared among them was so natural and easy, it made capturing their connection feel effortless.

After the photos, we all sat down to an amazing dinner, filled with good food, great conversation, and a lot of laughter. It was such a nice reminder of why I love what I do in getting to witness and document moments of joy, connection, and family. I’m already looking forward to capturing more family events and activities with them in the near future. There’s something so special about being part of these moments, and I can’t wait for what’s to come, continuing my journey in Colorado portrait photography.
