Boulder, Colorado
Every now and then, a Colorado portrait photography session leaves a lasting mark on your heart. That was exactly the case when I had the pleasure of photographing Raphael, a young man I met during the Autism Society’s Bike Camp. From the very first day at camp, Raphael’s joy was contagious. He was absolutely thrilled to be there, taking in every moment with pure enthusiasm and a beaming smile that never seemed to fade.
When his mom decided to book a portrait session, I was honored. It felt like such a natural next step after the connection we had already built at camp. Raphael approached his session with the same excitement he had brought to bike camp. He arrived ready to explore, laugh, and simply be himself in front of the camera. His energy was uplifting and his spirit shone through in every frame, making it a perfect example of Colorado portrait photography.

What made this session so special was the authenticity Raphael brought to it. He didn’t hold back. Whether he was striking a pose, sharing a joke, or simply enjoying the breeze, every moment felt real and meaningful. Capturing his joy and personality through portraits was not just a creative experience but a deeply personal one as well, highlighting the heart of Colorado portrait photography.
Meeting Raphael has been a highlight of my summer. It reminded me why I love what I do. I’m also incredibly grateful to the Autism Society and the greater Boulder community for creating inclusive spaces where connections like this can blossom. I’m looking forward to continuing to work with families in this wonderful community and to sharing more stories like Raphael’s.
Thank you, Raphael, for trusting me with your portrait session. Your light is truly something special.
